November 2013 Newsletter to ClientsSubmitted by Moneywatch Advisors on October 31st, 2013
We are quickly approaching the end of 2013. Joe, Elizabeth and Ramsey will be working on completing year end tasks – most importantly, IRA required minimum distributions for those over 70.5 AND charitable contributions. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
If you are over 70.5 and are required by the IRS to withdraw money from your IRA prior to the end of 2013, we will be processing this on your behalf. If you have specific instructions which may have changed from prior years, please contact our office at your earliest convenience. The Lexington office will begin processing distributions in early November.
If you plan to make a charitable contribution and need us to facilitate payment from your TD Ameritrade account, please contact us at your earliest convenience or prior to November 29, 2013.
As technology becomes ever more existent in our daily lives, we all must continue to be diligent in the protection of our personal information and avoid potential threats which limit the conveniences they provide. Moneywatch employees are trained to be suspicious of potential email fraud against clients. This means we will proactively reach out to you if we are uncomfortable with the manner in which a request for money has been made. Please understand that we have your best interest in mind and may verify requests through verbal acknowledgement. According to news accounts, specifically CNN, even the President of the United States is not immune, having had his Twitter account hacked recently.
Bob Bova plans to visit the Lexington office for one week arriving Monday, November 18. Bill Leffler arrives for his week in Lexington on December 4. Bob plans another three-week visit in December, arriving on the 12th.
The stock market moves up and down but happily more up than down. The economy improves, the Fed keeps interest rates low to foster growth and protect our banking industry. The housing industry recovery continues.
